My 1992 toyota mr2 turbo has a whistle coming from the engine compartment when it's sitting still and running. What could that b?

A whistle -- open the hood;WATCH OUT FOR MOVING PARTS; listen. Try to pin down what thingy is whistling and get back.

Yeah I tried that. It stops as soon as I give it a little gas.

okay- vacuum decreases due to higher rpm so at idle listen .

Probably a bad vacuume line from the sound of it, but is it a whistle or light squeal?

It's definitely a whistle. I just swapped engines and the mechanic thinks the water pump gasket it dry from sitting for so long.
