Are you asking on the removal and repair or replacement of a 5.7 CI engine? If that is your question: 4 hours or less to remove the engine. Depending on the work needed, one day to two weeks to rebuild the engine depending on what you want done and or replaced. Check crate engine or rebuild engines costs vs. the repair cost of the engine. If you order a turn key engine, (One ready to drop in and run from the factory) it will take once the engine is there about three days to get you in and out the door if they know what their doing. Get cost estimates from different shops. There are rebuilt engines for between $1800 to $3500. I'd personally go with a new GM crate engine, all new parts and with a guarantee. Depending on what you get, the price will vary.
