Knocking from side to side at intersection.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 1995 Volvo 960 sedan knocks from side to side when stopped at an
intersection. I has 168k miles and I am pretty good about maintaining it. The
transmission fluid level is correct, what could it be.

Not sure if it knocks or ROCKS from side to side.., Most likely, the latter. In which case, you're do for a tune up (spark plugs, distributor cap, distributor rotor, and spark plug wires, fuel filter and air filters are also recommended at the same time.) chances are the motor mounts could be attributing to the issue so I'd have them checked out. Do a tune up first, if it continues or you feel vibration(more then normal, replace the mounts)

It does get parked outside and we have had a lot of rain in southern California lately.
