2002 Volvo C70 HT Convertible

This 2002 Volvo C70 HT Convertible is being advertised with 62,000 miles for $6,300.00  
I test drove it only a few miles at under 45 mph.  It seemed to drive okay but the
steering wheel shimmied a little and when I turned to the right, there was a fairly
significant noise coming from the steering apparatus controlling the tires (control arm?  
idk).  

Does anyone have experience with older Volvo's that can provide an opinion for the
asking price and safety?

just take it for the usual 50 point inspection for $100~ you'll find out all kinds of stuff that you'd really not rather know about~ this sounds like a safety issue with worn out tie rod ends~ make the seller pay for the inspection...that way he'd KNOW what he's trying to sell~

I had a 1971 240 gas powered 5 speed T-type or maybe J-type overdrive...this year was famous for starting on fire without provocation, after having meticulously replaced the engine harness...the rubber everything was crumbling and the head was leaking oil into the water jacket...the whole thing was slightly less then $1000.00 and still could not piece it together correctly on my Sand and boulders driveway...kept dropping and losing bolts... the whole thing was a visit to the asylum....ended up just giving it away...guy who got it turned up dead...shucks~ that's the second car I gave away, and the new owner turned up dead~....freak.
