Potential Unethical Practices by Causeway Family of Dealerships in Manahawkin NJ

Asked by RGG Apr 08, 2014 at 09:44 PM about the 2004 Volvo C70 LPT Turbo Convertible

Question type: Shopping & Pricing

April 4 I expressed interest in a 2004 Volvo C70 VIN YV1NC63D44J045337  for $5,365
at Causeway Family of Dealerships in Manahawkin NJ.  They responded with what
appeared to be a form note on April 6  I responded again immediately, very interested in
closing the purchase.  There was no response and today I checked them online again.
They raised the price to $7,995.  THIS IS AN OBVIOUS BAIT AND SWITCH TACTIC.
Unless Car Gurus takes action against this advertiser you passively condone this
practice.  In my follow up email I asked if they are going to honor the original price.
However, I am not optimistic.  What recourse is available?

For now I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt. Perhaps it was a typo. But that doesn't excuse them from giving you the decency of an explanation. There's a place for ratings in there listings.
