Why does my volvo hold water near the trunk of the car, after rain or a wash?

The trunk drain is probably clogged up. Also check the trunk lid gutter drain and make sure it is not clogged and check the weather stripping on the trunk opening for damage..

I found that the bolts holding down the spare tire might be the source of my water leak as the carpet was only wet at bottom of the spare holder. I took those off and put telflon tape around the bolt threads and re tighten them. It might not fix it and I might have to take out the carpet and look underneath but its a first attempt.
