Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2001 S40 is at 75,000 miles and is beginning to hesitate when I accelerate.  Does this car have a history of transmission problems at this mileage?

This is apparently a common problem as my 2001 s40 did the same thing and liked to freak out every once in a while between 1st and 2nd gear. Took it to the dealer and the volvo technician said it was common and that the computer needed to be updated. Had them update the computer and everything has been fine since.

Update the computer. You could also have a flaky altitude sensor or a failing mass air flow sensor.
