extended warranty

Asked by Dennae Dec 26, 2018 at 11:10 AM about the 2005 Volvo S40 T5 Turbo

Question type: General

It's a 2005, 124,000 miles . Oil changes always as need, kept up as directed
and runs great. Should I get an extended warranty on it and what type if so.
Had it checked for any sort of issues couple of months ago as moved from
cold climate to Fl for the time being and even the timing belt is still good to
go. Don't put much miles on it, just seems foolish to sell because something
might go wrong when it's in such good shape and runs so good. However, it
does have the 124,000 miles so that's why I need SOUND advice as to get
ext. warranty or not. Also, please, best company in your opinion to get
warranty?

Volvos can be expensive for major repairs, I would never want to own one out of warranty, but I've also never had a good experience with third party warranties. Volvo does have an extended warranty but you're vehicle is too old. (It covered 8 yrs up to 150K miles). If you REALLY want to have a full warranty, you may want to consider trading this in. Otherwise you'll be looking at super expensive third party warranties and gambling on that ever paying off.

THANK-YOU so very much Ken as you don't know the despair I've been experiencing re: this as anyone I ask either doesn't know, think they know or want to make money on the fact. Your answer was clear, to the point and most of all trustworthy something I prayed about before posting the question. Again, thank you, Sincerely Dennae.
