I have a 2000 volvo s70 with 180,000+ on the dash i recently bought it and the orange arrow was showing any idea how to get rid of it or what the problem could be?

The tranny is shifting around 2-3,000
rpm just has a little trouble getting to
third gear when it is supposed to.

Check the buttons in front of the shifter. Those are the shift modes. If it is in W, it will do that. Press E or S, and if the problem goes away, there's your answer. It could also be a transmission solenoid, but check the buttons first.

The arrow went a way for a couple days but then came back..then went off again and came back on. I have no idea what it could be now. Help?

You can also take it to a place like Auto Zone and ask to use their code reader. That may be revealing as well.
