2002 s80.  Air conditioner seems to cool air only some of the time.  Is the compressor
freezing up or is it an electrical problem?

The two most inexpensive things to check is coolant level and relay. You may have low coolant, or a relay that is on it's way out. You can buy gas at your local auto store. That will run you about $35 and a relay will be $10-15. If that doesn't fix the problem, I would bring it to an A/C guy.
