i replaced the thermostat on my volvo s90 now it still reads like running hot and having trouble starting

my car was running fine then started reading like was overheating so replaced
thermostat now still reads like running hot, and the fan runs all the time and
now is having trouble starting. what would happen if i drove it without replacing
the sensor

Did you purge air out of the system? Have you done cooling system maintenance like a flush, new hoses, coolant etc? Cooling fan working? Any other issues like white exhaust smoke?

Try running it with no thermostat. Check for piston compression. Checkradiator buy removing the cap and look for air bubbles.
