The timing belt in a Volvo engine is a VERY important piece of equipment to keep everything working within proper tolerance order. Though the original went to 205K miles, I would stick to the original manufacturers specification about changing the timing belt at specified mileage since it is so important to the overall powertrain health.

Go online and look up the information as I did here. After reading briefly what I could on "www.produtools.com", I would keep a mechanic employed so I wasn't on my back all day. Have you stopped by a local dealer and asked for a copy of the factory service guide.
