Yes, I used mine to haul 3/4 ton of dirt with about 500lbs of wood in the bed of the mighty max and it didn't sem to affect anything on it except the steering, which got extremely more responsive and sensitive.

I'm going to load a pallet of St. Augustine grass sod weighing in at 2000 lb. Mine's a '93, 5 speed. Thanks for relaying your experience. I'll only post again should a problem arise. After what I'm hearing, my manual steering will feel more like power steering. Thanks, RB.

I have a 94 manuel. A real "Yard Dog" truck. Hardest working truck I have ever had. Pulled 3500 pounds of brick on a trailor, At least a 1000 lbs in the cargo. Pulled like a champ. However... stupid me, I had forgot to take off the emergency brake. Awesome truck. I have two Might Maxes.

I have a 88 Mighty Max 2.0l 5 speed manual. Several years ago I was hauling scrap metal with it and my loaded weight on the scrap yard scale was around 5200 lbs. After dumping the load and returning to the scale my empty weight was around 2900 lbs. Hard to believe but I had just hauled 2300 lbs in that little trunk. I would always place heavy brake rotors at the cab end of the bed and sometimes on the passenger side floor if I had a lot of them to balance the load. Mitsubishi Mighty Max small but terrible!

I have a 94 inline 4 mighty max it was my papaws it has a round hay bale in the bed no problem it is a manual with 279000 miles on it great trucks and dependable they start every time love mine still has the factory clutch built to last
