Not getting fuel

Asked by Daniel Jul 13, 2016 at 04:36 AM about the 1990 Mitsubishi Mighty Max 2 Dr STD Standard Cab SB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The truck hasn't ran or been started in almost
three years well we started trying today and it
will run on starting fluid but that's it, isn't
getting gas up to engine?? We have been trying
to locate a fuse for the fuel pump. We found a
relay under the passenger side kick panel and it
clicks when turning the key on and off.  We
tried listening for the fuel pump to kick on but
can't hear anything. Are there any special fuses
or relays that we are missing ? What else can I
do to try and get it going without dropping the
tank and replacing fuel pump?? I really need to
get it running because if can I am going to buy
it and make it my ride.

Just change the fuel pump now..26 years old don't waste time. Use a multimetter check for power in the fuel pump circuit unplug a connector check for 12volts when cranking.

More than likely I wouldn't try to pop you can try the pump in the pump relay with a multimeter but it's probably the fuel injectors are all clogged up instead of replacing the fuel injectors take him out toothbrush screen and if you don't like that just go down to the local gas station and blow hot air in clean out the screen in the fuel injectors shouldn't have a problem
