1993 Mighty Max unidentified, intermittent sound

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

'93 Mitsu pick-up. 5 speed, 2WD. The sound seems to come from the driver front. It is worse in the morning when first driving and almost completely goes away after driving for 20 minutes or so. It is NOT in the engine. The pace is slower when the car is moving slower and speeds up with acceleration. I have just replaced brakes, rotors, calipers, inner and outer wheel bearings, outer tie-rod ends, U-joints, and idler arm,. It needed most of these things anyway, but the sound is still there. Several mechanics have looked at the car and of course, it was not making the sound at the time. They said there is some wear in ball joints, and shocks are lousy, but nobody thought either of these things are the cause. Any ideas?

I forgot to say that the sound is like a mix between a bird chirping and a dragging sound. The truck has about 170K on it.

Have you tried switching the front tire and wheel with the back one? It seems like you did everything else.
