Long crank on start

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I recently replaced my fuel system and
electrical with new part: fuel pump, filter,
spider injectors. New distributor, plug
wires, plugs and I have a long crank on
cold starts. I have no warning lights and no
codes have been thrown. The only thing I
can think of is when I replaced the injectors
the guy didn't replace the plenum gaskets
and reused the fuel pressure regulator. I'm
at a loss and could use some help

Start by doing a fuel bleed down test. Hook up a fuel pressure gauge to the Schrader Valve, build up fuel pressure then with the key turned off, watch the fuel pressure gauge. It should not drop in pressure more than 5 lbs in 3 min. If it does then there is a problem with the spider injection. I say this because it is recommended to replace the entire spider injection assembly to avoid problems. New spider injection assembly includes all fuel injectors, lines, distribution center, and fuel regulator. There is always problems down the road just trying to repair the existing injector assembly.
