Vsc Trac and check engine light is on

was it okay before we had the cold snap....not sure where you are living but certain areas of the midwest use Rock Salt which can eat up the car like pirahnas...okay one of the trouble areas is the Main ground connection...under attack by the elements...fight back by taking the black battery cable off of the spot where it attaches to the frame/fender and wire brush the lug and the chassis free of any salt and rust and put them back together..thus restoring all components to the values the ECU wants to see and the check engine light should go off then...why? because the heated 02 sensor needs that POWER to heat up the sensor...and will toss out a 'check engine' light....because of insufficient ground~
