Some kind of spike through the electrical system unless the on/off button is in close proximity to the key ... they have a diode in most fuse boxes that are designed to handle that .... Be aware that with cold weather coming soon ,, you don't want that wiper to come on if it gets frozen to the window
Why does the rear wiper cycle one time when my 4th gen 4Runner is started? Toyota built this feature into the 4th gen 4Runner to alert owners when their batteries are starting to die. When the battery drops below 50% of its original cold cranking amperage rating, the rear wiper will cycle one time to alert the owner that it's time install a new battery.
