An exhaust leak would be a cause for the ticking sound. Otherwise it would be coming from the lifters in the engine.

Tic tic tic, could very well be your fan clutch. Very well documented about this problem on our platform. If you just replaced the clutch, try exchanging it with a newer one. I bought one with a lifetime warranty, brand new out of the box had the ticking problem. You may go through a couple before you get one that doesn't tick. I've been through this problem with 3 Trailblazers myself, same engine and platform.

My 2004 Buick Rainier had a tick tick tick sound and I had to replace the exhaust manifold. The manifold was cracked in two places. Replaced it with a new manifold and a tick tick tick was gone and the check engine light went off.
