low beams work sometimes

Asked by Guru9YYRD6 Jan 27, 2021 at 01:50 PM about the 2002 Buick Regal LS Sedan FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

low beams work sometimes, high beams work fine.  Mechanic spent several
hours checking, fuses, relays, switches and sensor. He THINKS its the cpu/box.
must order and have dealer program before installation.  Can you advise?

Note the diagram for your headlamps. according to my database, the cpu isn't involved. My database isn't the best, but, it's all I have. You can see lo beam in diagram, top wire is voltage, fuse protected and hot all the time. The bottom wire from lo beam is ground. If you follow the ground wire around, it goes through dimmer switch and headlamp switch. Both switches are part of ground circuit. If I was you, I'd do some testing, voltage and ground. If my database is wrong, then, my bad. Just trying to help. good luck
