Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When I first purchase the car , I was to the put 89
because of a knocking sound when I turn over the
car which I came to realize it's a common problem ,
but when I search I don't get a result or answer

Put in 87 octane unless it pings. If it is pinging there is an issue with it that needs addressed. How many miles on your Mustang?
