Does a small crack in the manifold harm the engine if not fixed?

If it's the exhust manifold that has the leak it should not harm the engine, but it may cause you to get some troble codes and the check engine lite may come on.If it's the intake manifold well that a different story. you may start to over haet the engine and loose coolant from the cooling system
