My 2006 commander had the trans over temp gremlins for years. Searched everywhere for an answer but all were dead ends. I googled how to change my alternator and came across a guy who fixed his trans over temp issue. The airbox tube that goes to the front grill area has a sort of deflector piece at the end of it which is right by the transcooler. He removed the deflector. He also air blew the pins. That's it. Ya.....right. I changed my alternator so I figured I'd also drilled out the two rivets holding the deflector on. I didnt air blow any pins either. Guess what......the gremlin is gone. Unbelievable. My Jeep runs a hell of a lot better too, even getting 15.7mpg rather than the 11.1 I'd been getting for a couple years now. Proofs in the pudding.....
