Acura TL Subframe

Asked by Acuranoun May 13, 2016 at 09:07 AM about the 2007 Acura TL FWD with Navigation

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I got into a car accident and my cars subframe
bent (2007 Acura TL base model 3.2L engine). I
need to get a new subframe. The problem I am
currently facing is which subframe to get.  I have
two options right now, a 2006 Acura TL subframe or
another 2007 Acura TL subframe. The 2006 is $500.
The 2007 is $1200. The 2007 of course fits 100%
no problem since it's the same exact piece I had.
However I am not sure if the 2006 will fit. I know
that 2004-2006 had the same exact subframe (part#
50200-SEP-A03) while the 2007 has its own
subframe and part number (part# 50200-SEP-A04).
I called a junkyard and they told me it won't fit but
idk if there computer system just says "no match"
to any parts that have different part# or if it actually
has a detailed database of different compatible
parts. So I looked online for some answers and
found out that some people have put the 04-06
subframe on the 07 before and it fit on right. The
guy that wants to sell me the 2006 subframe (online
seller from eBay) is confident that it will work saying
that all the mounts are the same and line up
perfectly, he claims he had years of experience with
subframes, I am not sure if he's  just saying this to
get me to buy it or if he's being true to his word.

So I'm asking if any of you guys have even been
through this situation and how it ended up working,
or if you know if it would work or not.

Thank you very much!

Most salvage yards use the hollander interchange system it is a computer program that is designed for this excact question if they are saying that the 06 wont fit then i would trust in that and get the 07. The mounts for the engine and suspension are probably different so save urself the head ache and get the 07 oh and a lot of times if a part has a different part number than the year before or after it usually means it is a one year only or it will only fit that particullar year
