Hello, the PCM is your cars computer which primarily controls the engine spark and fuel (map) The Pcm will store trouble codes related to these systems on the engine, even if there is NO check engine light on! it has codes stored, next your 07 has OBDII if you don't have a code reader most discount auto stores TRY and read codes for no fee... But you mentioned a communication failure, this means the scanner/ code reader never connected with the cars Pcm make sure it's plugged in then turn the key on to the first position, if it still does not connect inspect it very, very closely the connector sometimes gets pulled on, kicked etc.. wiggle the wires gently there are approx 6 of them make sure none have pulled out or are broken, this is step 1. get the trouble codes! most issues are fuel or ignition control related.
Hey thank you for replying, I ment to say that I had the check engine code read and it was like a 1001 something with a pcm/ecm communication failer that was the actual code that the reader gave I'm going to go back and get it read again.

Your welcome, this time be sure and write down the code/s if there are more than 1 also describe all the things the your Audi is doing stalling, runs good when warm or cold surges, these are all Clues in addition to knowing the code.
