1997 chevy lumina won't start changed battery, checked starter, etc, thinking it could be the anti-theft device any way to check myself before calling a professional?

if the neutral safety switch is bad the car will not start or unplugged try putting the car in neutral and see if it starts if its the anti theft the light would be on
