Service Engine Soon - 1997 Chevy Suburban

Asked by TL May 11, 2015 at 07:19 AM about the 1997 Chevrolet Suburban C1500 RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So I am having trouble trying to figure out
what to do. My 97 Suburban (1500 LS)
keeps giving me a service engine soon
light. One day it just started, and my step
father checked the codes. It was basically
multiple misfires. And the O2 sensor. I
replaced all plugs, plug wires, rotor and
cap. Seemed to fix the issue. But now.... I
am getting service engine soon light again,
checked codes and it is only one now
saying cylinder 4 is misfiring. Pulled the
plug, and it was all dirty and corroded.
Cleaned it with a wire brush, reset light by
disconnecting the battery and that seemed
to fix it. BUT NOW........ Same light... No
vacuum leaks. No oil leaks from what I can
tell. I'm screwed..... Need to fix so I can
smog it!!

I have a same problems with my 1997 Chevy Suburban 2500 4wheel drive. Service engine soon light, on and off. Check engine soon light, on and off.
