97 che y suburban wont start up

Asked by Joshua Jan 27, 2019 at 02:05 PM about the 1997 Chevrolet Suburban K1500 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So i got a fuel pressure test and it read 50 a engine on no
start position. Replaced fuel filter tested fuses, not sure
what else could be causing the no start. It cranks but it
doesnt fire up. Switched the throttle body position sensor
too, any ideas?

I looked at your vehicle 5.7L engine. If you have the spider fuel system, key on engine off, 60--66 psi. The startup fuel pressure can be critical, after you get it started, it will run with less pressure.

On the 97 suburban, there is probably a fuel pump relay/fuse on the firewall under the hood might need replacing. That's what cause my 95 Chevy 1500 truck from starting. Just a FYI. Hopefully this will help.

Would a failing relay cause low fuel pressure? I can hear the pump.working. i dropped the tank and all looks good it just wont fire up.

Change the fuel relay. It does cost to much. Then if it doesn't start. Let me know.

Ok i changed the fuel relay and nothing. I put some starting fluid in the intake, put ut the cover back on and she'll start and idle! But only at 700 rpms and as sokn as i press the gas she dies. Any thoughts? Shes getting 50 psi fuel pressure so im thinking the fuel pressure regulator will solve it but idk.
