I just replaced the alternator on my wife's 2007 Jeep Compass and the car still won't stay running without jumper cables. It idles and slowly dies

I'm positive the alternator size is right, so that can't be it

Hello, Still not charging... check fuses, makes sure wires are reconnected to alternator and get back to us. Also make sure belt is spinning alternator. Also, the battery is dead. You wouldn't need jumper cables if the battery was charged.
