can I change 2009 cam sensor to a 2007 3.7l head

Asked by GuruDB5RF6 Nov 14, 2024 at 01:31 PM about the 2007 Dodge Nitro SLT 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have swapped a 2009 r/h cylinder head to a 2006 3.7l had the 2009 head
rebuilt now have no start/ engine misfire also had to replace cam sensor due to
a size difference in sensor mounting hole looks like the ecm is not sensing it, all
of above is in a 2006 dodge nitro with a 3.7l engine. Is it the cam sensor and is
there a fix or do I have to have the ecm reprogramed

Only way to really tell is with live data, if the computer is actually seeing a signal from the cam sensor or not. The head may not be compatible with the engine or electronics, so brace yourself.
