Purchased on 03/30/2020 broke down on 04/05/2020 towed to the dealership
1/5/2020 requested a refund as the car is a lemon. I do not have the title
transfer to me yet. the dealer is claiming the car was sold as is. Since the car
has not been tranfer to me yet I do not own the car since he refused to let me
know that the car was title attached. How then can I get a refund for my money,

Have you been able to get the refund
The purchase agreement you signed is the contract. So, If the car was sold as is, it's yours. Doesn't matter that the titled hasn't tranferred yet.
right, if the dealer doesn't want to refund your money, it's yours now. Place an ad here to sell once you get the title.
When you bought the vehicle you signed a purchase agreement in good faith to buy and pay for the vehicle. This vehicle is 13 years old, was sold to you in "as is" condition, so it is yours. Some States do have a cooling off period law for major purchases such as a house or vehicle. Basically the law says that you can back out of a major purchase for any reason within a certain time period. In New Jersey it's three days. Check with your local Office of Consumer Affairs and see if your State has such a law and, if it does, what the time limit is to back out of the deal. Hope that helps! Jim
If the dealer sold the car to you "As Is" that's the game. You're stuck. Often times when you purchase a used car the dealer will provide a 30-day money-back guarantee. That doesn't seem to be the case here. If the dealer sold the car to you on the basis of as is he would have it displayed on the car sticker or certainly in the contract. You don't say what the problem is with the car. Not that it matters, but if you got a good buy on it, and the repairs needed are reasonable, then fix it and enjoy it. You can be sure that a car dealer has covered his sale though.
