Hello all. Has anyone ever had problems w/their 7-speed transmission with the shift from 2nd to 3rd?? I have 5000 miles on the car. It just started slipping today with the shift from 2nd to 3rd?? Doesn't matter if shifting manually or not. It is actually worse if you leave it in auto!!! I am shocked?? Any ideas anyone please??

It's an '07 that you've put only 5k on? Do you have a warranty? If so take it to the dealer. It's way outside of my experience range so I won't even guess at an answer to the problem.
you have some nasty issues take it to the dealer under warranty

I have an 08 CLK 550. When in drive (automatic) it is slipping into manual transmission and into first gear, when I am driving 35 mph. Engine revs really high and car slows dramatically. Has happened several times and dealer says there is no problem. Can you tell me more about your problem please. You can email me at: hollywoodtennisgirl@gmail.com Thanks. I am so frustrated. Car is still at shop and they can't duplicate it.
Wow its not just mine! I have a 07 slk280 had 5 months now. Twice we had this exact transmission sticking problem. Both times I had to pull over and turn off the ignition afterwards was ok. If you all know more please post. I plan to take in. Thanks for his post. Singerfromdaheart@hotmail.com

I own a 2007 CLK 550 and have had repeatedly problems with the transmission (after 50,000 miles and warranty gone). The car keeps slipping in low geears, then eventually to limp mode drive. Dealership can fix the computer niche saying I have a transmission problem and the car is good to drive for 4 weeks, then the process happens again. Faulty reading or real transmission problem. Dealer not sure.
I own a SLK350 2005 , at 104,000km my car would not shift up gears from 2nd to 3rd and the only way I managed to fix this was to pull over the side of the road and turn key off and on to reset the computer, however I found out the hard way that you can only do this so many time before the car would be stuck in gear, to cut a long story short it end up being the " Transmission Hydraulic unit that need replacing, Cost about AU $2,100. The car dive like a new one with smooth gear changes now. This is a very common fault in all 350 SLK .
