07 Hyundai accent did not start when running errands. Next day, it started just fine.

So, drove 07 hyundai accent for an hour. Was running errands locally at a
store at night. From store parking lot, the car did not start. Battery was fine, it
was cranking alright, but did not start. Someone gave jump start, too.
Checked engine oil, ATF oil etc. Everything seemed ok. Talked to the store
manager to park the stalled vehicle overnight. Next day morning, took a
mechanic to the parking lot, he put the key in and cranked it - it started just
fine. Baffled.

Without any other tests, the mechanic is speculating the crankshaft position
sensor is to be replaced.. Any thoughts?

Almost same thing happened yesterday, too. Drove to a friend's house in the neighborhood for a social visit. Car didn't start. Left it there overnight. Next morning, it started just fine. Drove back home for another 5-10 minutes and it just died in the driveway. It appears that it starts after letting it cool down. Please help.

The battery cables on my '05 Accent became frayed and cause similar issues for me. Verify they are in good shape where the cable meets the battery connector. I wrote an article on the repair of these: http://www.shareyourrepair.com/2016/03/how-to-repair-bad-battery- cables.html

Changed the Crankshaft Position Sensor. Drove for continuous 15 mins. So far working ok.
