Car wont dive foward

Hyundai elantra 07 automatic Ok so as I was
driving I felt slight jerk as soon as I hit the gas after
being stopped at a preflight later on that day my
car would,not go in drive only reverse its shifts to
every gear put only drives in reverse I want to k,ow
is a bad transmission or is it something small that I
might be able to fix a mechanic checked .y fluid he
said it does smell burnt fluid level is fine

an automobile does not tend to "dive" but my advice to you is to check the automatic transmission fluid, replace the filet and replenish the hydraulic oil, my advice to you is to take your automobile to your local shop and a qualified technician should be able to diagnose the malfunctioning tranny

if the fluid is burnt CHANGE IT AND THE FILTER
Sorry typos but the mechanic said that the fluid was not burnt he said it smells fine
This tranny places are thiefs.They only want to replace your trans and make the easy money.Even at Pepbo, they told me they charge $160/hr.;and that it takes 8hrs labor to replace a tranny for my 14 Elantra 1.8l. BS.
