2007 Toyota Sequoia

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Recently I was stuck in highway traffic.  This caused a lot of stopping and starting. Later I began to hear 'clicking' noises coming from the rear wheels. Parked the car for the night. Next morning the noise left. Another day I was freeway driving in the rain, I began to hear that 'clicking' noise again. What's happening?  Are the wheels going to fall off?  I must note that the tread on the tires are getting low. I'm planning to replace all 4 within the next month. 4Wheel Drive.  Please advise?

I would jack up the rear, put it on jack stands and see if I could get the vehicle to replicate the problem. While on stands, I would also slowly spin each tire and inspect if for a nail or piece of metal in the tire. That would make a click noise. If no noise while on stands, I would take of each tire and inspect the brakes.
