Crown Victoria intermittently Overheating
Hey everyone,
My car was intermittently overheating so I thought maybe the cooling fan module is bad. I checked the voltage on the connector and it was giving
me 13 volts, I also checked continuity and it was good to. then I ran a jumper wire directly to the fan and it worked fine. I also changed the
thermostat, coolant flush, the water pump is relatively new.
After getting a new fan the car was working fine for a few days then started acting up again. I got a replaced the fan under warranty but that didn't
solve the issue.
I noticed the issue happens only during the day, maybe because the weather is hot (118 ℉) which makes the coolant fan module overheat and not
work properly?
I also scanned for codes and there's a code "P0480-FF: Cooling fan 1 control circuit malfunction" the codes keeps coming back even if I unplug
the fan which makes me think this is an electrical issue.
Other thing I looked at is Live data where the "Cooling fan driver fault" fluctuate between No Fault and Yes Fault.
I've attached photos of the fault codes.
Also it might be worth mentioning that the new cooling fan that I got is an aftermarket one and the salesman told me that they've been selling them
for a while and they didn't receive any complaint.
Appreciate your help
