Have a 1995 buick regal with an engine knock.....
what can I use to swap the engine? Do you think
it's even worth the time

true that 3.8 L engine parts are getting harder to get.

Depends on the condition of the car and how much you like it. There were hundreds of thousands of GM cars made with the 3800 V6 and you can probably find a good lower mileage engine in a salvage yard IF you want to keep the car. This summer a friend had a very unusual failure, twisted the cam in half, his car had 120K, he found a 59K motor for $200 plus installation (he liked the car enough to make the switch)
