is there a test to see if crank positioning sensor is good or bad on 1996 chevy
blazer?

If your Blazer has spark and runs, the crankshaft position sensor must be good. Or you can scan for code P0320, which would indicate a failing sensor. If for some reason you don't trust it, you can get a replacement for $40 but on some engines it is hard to reach. And I always tell myself: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it".
