2005 rendezvous overheating

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

We have a 2005 Buick rendezvous
one day it started overheating
instantly as soon as you were
started driving it. My husband
replaced the thermostat and
radiator cap and flushed it he
could drive it then for about an
hour but when he got on the
highway at higher speeds it would
have still overheat. Do you think
it's a head gasket problem? What
he did in repairs did help it some
so I wonder if it's possibly
something else besides head
gasket?

Signs of a blown head gasket are white smoke from the exhaust (after it is warmed up) and white or milky oil. A compression test can determine if there is a leak in a cylinder caused by a blown head gasket.
