When pressing on my brakes

When pressing on my breaks they don’t work right
away, the car continue to roll into it eventually catch  
some times my breaks work right away it’s a off and
on problem when they don’t work it feel as
something is interfering with the brakes as if
something in in-between the brakes that’s not
allowing my brakes to grip properly
