I have a buick I woukd like to use as a trade in on a new used vehicle

Tom's absolutely correct, but, you'll get more if you sell your car privately. Dealers have to resell your vehicle and they want to turn a profit. Many dealers will inflate the trade in value of your car and then bury the cost into the vehicle you purchase, so, you're trading dollars. If you're not in a hurry, place an ad online. Be sure to check the value on Kelly Blue Book and NADA. Good luck.
