how do Iget the clip off the steering colum. Igot the snap ring off now I to take off the
clrcle clip off to put in a new ignition switch.

Please advise why you went through the trouble of replacing the ignition? If you only needed a key you could have gone to a GM dealer, provided proof of ownership and the vin. and had a key made.

However since you gone this far, there is tool called a steering wheel lock plate remover. Go to autozone.com look up part no. 27044 and you will see the tool in question. Good Luck SEMPER FI
