1995 Buick Riviera starts then stalls right away?

Asked by Chris Aug 16, 2018 at 08:34 AM about the 1995 Buick Riviera Supercharged Coupe FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The car is a 1995 Buick Riviera supercharged. I've been dealing with this
issue for over a year now as i'm a college student and haven't had time to
work on the vehicle. I bought it last year, it started and ran just fine. I parked
it in my driveway to leave for college. About 5 months passed and it was the
middle of winter. I attempted to start the car, but didn't have any luck. To this
day the vehicle will not start. When I turn the ignition the engine will either
continuously turn over, or start but then immediately stall. I noticed after the
vehicle would not start, that the whole intake was off, I reinstalled but still
have the same symptoms. I unplugged the maf sensor, still no luck. If
anyone has any suggestions, it would be greatly appreciated as i'm trying to
get this car up and running for an upcoming winter demolition derby.

Update, I don't believe security lockout is the issue as the light comes on when key is turned on, then dissapears. If I spray brake cleaner in the intake the engine runs stronger and longer, but then dies

I suggest testing the fuel injectors (Noid Light) to determine proper functioning. This tool cost about $24.00. And or lift the gas line rail, place a piece of cardboard beneath the injectors to determine the flow of fuel. This should also determine the proper functioning of the fuel pump. Business' such as Auto Zone, Advance will loan you many of these tools in which to test the vehicle. D
