1995 Buick Riviera computer codes

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a supercharged 1995 Buick Riviera that has
what many people refer to as the OBD 1.5 system
in that it basically has the OBD 1 computer but with
an OBD 2 diagnostic plug. I'm trying to read the
codes but so far none of the paperclip jumper
tricks have worked. One poster said to jump pins 4
& 5 but that didn't do anything. And another poster
said to jump pins 4 & 6 but there is no pin in
position 6. Yet another poster said to jump pins A
& B which I think are supposed to be the top last
two pins which would be position 7 & 8 but there is
no pin in position 7. Does anyone else have any
ideas? Scanners that are able to work with this
type system are a bit expensive from what I've
found out so the paperclip method would be much
cheaper....

Thank you for that info! I only tried jumping pins 4 & 5 so far and I'm glad I didn't try the other suggestions. I was afraid I'd fry the computer if I had. Do you know of any decently priced scanners that will work on this car? So far it's been few and far between. Supposedly the GM Tech 2 scanner will work but is a bit pricey.
