You can give the vendor that will replace the unit your cars VIN# (located on the bottom left of your dash see thru windsheild) and then they can get you a replacement.

Go to the junkyard and find a remote from a Roadmaster then do this: 1991 - 1996 BUICK ROADMASTER REMOTE REPROGRAMMING PROCEDURE There is a "programming connector" plug with two wires, both black and white striped, coming into the backside of the plug and nothing plugged into the plug. To reprogram the remote keyless system, you will put a paper clip or some short wire into the plug to connect across the two terminals to connect the wires together. If you redo one transmitter, you will have to redo all transmitters.Connecting across the two terminals in the "programming connector" will make the system forget about all of your transmitters. 1. Sedan: look for the connector inside the left side of the trunk compartment behind the insulation. 2. Wagon: remove the right back body pillar finish panel to access the connector. 3. Using a paper clip or some short wire, connect across the two terminals in the connector. The system will click as it locks and then unlocks the locks. 4. Press any key on your transmitter. The system will go through the lock unlock cycle again a couple of times to confirm the reprogramming. 5. If you want to disable the unlock on shifting into Park feature, perform the following sequence three times with no more than one second between presses. Press the door lock button, press the door unlock button, press the trunk button. Repeat the sequence two more times with no more than one second between button presses. The receiver will cycle through the lock, unlock, trunk sequence three times as verification. 6. To program a second transmitter to the car, repeat steps 4, and if desired step 5. 7. Disconnect the paper clip or short wire across the two terminals on the "programming connector". 8. Now for the step which isn't in the manual. Use one of the transmitters to lock and then unlock the doors before cranking the engine to test it. 9. Now, you are finished.
