Car won't turn over

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Our 1996 Camaro was driving fine. We drove about 70 miles and parked it. When we went back to get in and turned on the key, nothing. It won't turn over or anything. We tried getting a jump thinking the battery was dead but lights and everything are fine. All we hear is a slight click when we turn the key. Any suggestions?

Sounds like the starter took a dump. The clicking is probably the solenoid receiving power but the starter motor itself is not responding.
