Lumina 96 won't start right away plus flashing low coolant light

Asked by sinsie Jul 25, 2015 at 10:14 AM about the 1996 Chevrolet Lumina LS Sedan FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have to give the car a little gas to get it start up. What do I need to replace? I'm a
poor student and can't afford to spend money on a new a car or hundreds of dollars on
repairs. I'm hoping that changing the fuel filter will do it, but is there something else I
need to look into? Also it keep flashing low coolant after I added coolant. It's full and
not over heating, nor is it losing coolant from what I can tell seeing how it is almost
fully topped off still. Any ideas?

Sinsie I have the same problem. I have the low coolant light but my coolant reservoir is full and my radiator is at the top. I just ignore it for now but I check the coolant everyday. Mine also leaks a bit of oil but very little.
