Asked by gkoren Jul 16, 2018 at 05:28 PM about the 1996 Chevrolet Suburban K1500 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1996 with 240,000 on it and still on the original fuel pump. I am
moving and plan on a 3000 trip across the US. The flout on the pump is bad
and gives a bad reading but other that that the pulp in still working. How long
will it last if It's still working now.

Could be 10 days or 10 years, theres really no way to tell. It would be cheaper to replace it and be able to test it for a couple weeks before going than to have to get towed off the road and have it replaced though. You can't put a price on peace of mind....
