Brand new starter - i would suspect an wiring error. Sounds like battery power is going directly to feed the solenoid fire signal.

It was a remanufactured starter so I took it back and paid 20 extra dollars and go a brand new one that was slightly different and it works just fine. Now to fix or replace my injector problem

So was it your starter that was the problem??

2008 replaced starter and truck wants to start on own

im having that issue right now with it starting i hope its a wire touching something i have a 1991 chevy cavialer u think it muight be the wrong starter???

they said they gave me a 4 banger starter for the car i have i hope its just a wire thing ius there a certain position the wires have to go in??

GuruTF73B mines is doing the same exact thing I believe that something is grounding my starter so we are about to take it out and try again I will let u know if that's what it was

Mine moterhome dose the some thing.i didn't take the old start out someone else did an pu the now one in.so I went out to start it an it just made a clicking noise.so I look at it an there was no hot wire going to starter.so I Huck one up.an now it starts dut the only way I can get it to stop is by taking the battery cable off

I had the same problem but solved it. What I found out was, the bottom positive closes to your relay was touching the relays outer lip of the relays housing. I put two washers first then the three positives on top followed by a locker washer. Problem solved !

02 camry did the same thing after putting in a new starter. did it twice with the key out. i put the key in and turned it to on and back off then to on [not start] and put the ground cable back on and it was fine

The positive wire and the wire leading from the ignition are touching just had this issue yesterday its an error with instilation

While replacing the battery, my car 2009 Toyota Corolla started automatically even without the keys, it was crazy. I put the ignition key tried to stop the engine but it didn't, didn't know what to do. then unintentionally, I pressed the brake pedal, it stopped then everything is back to normal.
