Grinding, howling noise in front

Asked by Ralph Jul 13, 2017 at 08:14 PM about the 1995 Chevrolet Blazer 2-Door 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Just swapped transmission and now have a low pitch
howl in front, sounds like passenger side. Neutral safety
has shift indicator off by one spot. If I put it in 4hi noise
quits. Is 4wd not completely engaging or disengaging?
Could this be related to n/s switch? Or possibly tc vac
switch?
